Capital Punishment

Capital punishment is often associated with cruel and unusual punishment by societies all around the world, even in non-democratic governments. Punishments of crimes should be awarded on the motive of serving pain and regret to the criminals or providing a sense of justice to the victim or the victim's relatives as well as society. Sentencing a criminal to death may be done through cruel and unusual means but in my opinion a very necessary action to be taken based on the offense committed. Capital punishment has been practiced for centuries with the same kind of debate and questions being asked but nevertheless has it been immoral in today's world of justice. It is reasonable to argue that capital murder to certain crimes is inappropriate but in most cases, these crimes are greatly and severely offensive to humanity and should be held in due to the death punishment. The majority of society who are against capital punishment suggest the sentencing to life instead of capital punishment but my question is why do we allow a man who has killed women for decades to be sentenced to life just to serve him a non-cruel punishment?
In conclusion, I do agree with capital punishment being a mean of sentencing criminals and in debate, this form of punishment seemingly cruel is very well moral.

News of the Week

Obviously racism is still going on in America today and it is not going to end anytime soon but thats the nature of society. As to former President Carter's view that racism is very well the means by which Obama is being criticized holds some account of facts and false judgement. it is true that being the first black President of the United States might cause some skepticism about His decisions on the national affairs but that should not be a reason why the media would treat the President of the United States with harsh criticism, its only because He's the leader of an entire nation and the decision made by his administration would and should be greatly questioned. The freedom of speech while very clearly self explanatory in my opinion should be practiced with consideration and courtesy based on the manner being spoken about. Kanye's outburst was obscene and should never had occured and in short this is not about freedom of speech but its about knowing what to say at the right time and as always the media almost never stay neutral. the media tries to make a victim and a prey in every story, the good and bad guy and in this case, Kanye without dispute is the bad guy.

Obama's Speech to students

Obama's speech to the young American in my perspective enforced the students across the nation to focus and work harder in school as his administration will do the same to provide a more efficient educational system. As a student of the American school system, this speech serves as a motivational and inspirational message for us therefore by saying the goal of this message was reached. This is very the first time in the nation's history an American President has spoken to the nation's youth especially in this time of great economic downturn so this speech holds great significance as to putting faith in the youth of America. As to whether it changed any student's view on education or not, it certainly changed my views on education and working harder to succeed.
